Our Scratch Made Promise

For nearly 30 years the Peabody Cafeteria has been creating healthy meals that kids love. Peabody’s Cafeteria is something special. On any given day you’ll smell whole grain bread or pizza dough rising, see fresh local produce being prepped, and hear scratch-made sauces and soups sizzling.

Your child’s health is our top priority which is why we cook our meals from scratch. It is our goal to teach our students life-long lessons about health and show them that healthy choices actually taste really good!

Breakfast

Students have two opportunities to get school breakfast. A hearty breakfast will be offered 7:30am-7:55am, or If your student did not get a breakfast before school, 2nd chance breakfast will be available at morning recess.

Food Allergies and Special Diet Requests

If your student has a food allergy or dietary restriction due to medical reasons, please submit a new meal accommodation form each school year.

Cafeteria Edible Garden

We are proud recipients of California’s 2024 Farm to School Incubator Grant! Thanks to this grant, we’ve been able to serve students organic fruits and vegetables grown right here in Santa Barbara County, and to build our very own edible garden and learning lab in front of the cafeteria.

Chef Jen leads grade-level cooking classes in the cafeteria and, now, farm-to-table classes in the garden. These hands-on lessons help Peabody students learn where their food comes from and build a lifelong love of cooking healthy meals for themselves.

Want to help keep the garden thriving or lend a hand with cooking classes? Please contact us!
