Important Updates for School Year 2022-2023

Free Meals for All!

We are excited to announce that Peabody students will receive free breakfast and lunch this school year! The state of California is the first state to pass the Universal Free Meals Program. Adult meals will be $7.00 for lunch and $4.00 for breakfast. Vegetarian meals are available every day!

Free Summer Meals at Peabody Breakfast and Lunch! July 31st- August 16th. Free Summer meals are available all summer long at multiple sites in Santa Barbara, Goleta, Carpinteria, and more! Find A Site: Text FOOD to 304-304

Please Submit Your Meal Applications

Although meals are free for students, school districts are still required to collect meal applications. The information collected from the form is critical for academic and cafeteria-related funding. Your family may also qualify for additional benefits like free afterschool care or internet discounts.

Breakfast

Students will have two opportunities to get school breakfast this year. A hearty breakfast will be offered, free of charge, before the start of the school day at all schools. If your student did not get a breakfast before school, 2nd chance breakfast will be available at recess. Please note that only 1 breakfast is free.

Food Allergies and Special Diet Requests

If your student has a food allergy or dietary restriction due to medical reasons, please submit a new medical statement each school year.

For over 20 years the Peabody Cafeteria has been creating healthy meals that kids love. Peabody's Cafeteria is something special. On any given day you'll smell whole grain bread or pizza dough rising, see fresh local produce being prepped, and hear scratch-made sauces and soups sizzling.

Your child's health is our top priority which is why we cook our meals from scratch. It is our goal to teach our students life-long lessons about health and show them that healthy choices actually taste really good!
